How To Take Part

If you would like to take part, Bernina will send you two 8” fabric squares (one to practise on), along with a 4” square of patterned fabric.  The patterned fabric will be used to unify the blocks and should appear somewhere in your design.

You can use any technique, including piecing, embroidery, and appliqué to make your block. You may add other fabric or small embellishments such buttons, beads or sequins.

When sewn into the quilt, the blocks will finish at 6”.  When you receive your fabric, you will also receive a 6” square paper template.  So that none of your design is lost, it must fit inside the perimeter of a 6” square.  Be sure to leave all fabric outside of the 6” square undecorated to allow for joining. It is important that the blocks are not trimmed at all.

All blocks should be well made and in good condition and returned to us no later than 31st March 2022.

All entries received that meet the above criteria will be included in the finished quilt however we reserve the right to not include any entries that display inappropriate content or language, political statements or advertising.

When we send your fabric, we will include a form for you to give us the story behind your design so that we can tell the collective story behind the finished quilt and credit everyone who has taken part.
